Sophisticated Techniques to Bone Loss

Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone with a material called a bone graft. This material not only replaces missing bone, but also helps your bone regrow lost bone. This bone graft material may come from your own body, such as your hip, or may be a synthetic or donor material. The goal of bone grafting is not only to replace the missing bone but also to stimulate the growth of new bone tissue.

OUR APPROACH BONE GRAFTING
Bone loss to the jaw is one of the most serious consequences of missing teeth. It begins as soon as a tooth is lost, when the natural stimulation for bone growth created by the force of teeth chewing can no longer occur.

Dr. Salha is the pioneer in bone grafting as he gains popularity in recent years in his sophisticated techniques by offering a predictable treatment modality that meets an evolving standard of care for both partially and fully edentulous patients.

SINUS GRAFTING

A sinus lift is done when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw, or the sinuses excessively near the jaw, for dental implants to be placed.

It is the solution that can make it possible for you to have implants even after suffering bone loss.

Dr. Salha uses sophisticated techniques by offering a predictable treatment modality that meets an evolving standard of care for both partially and fully edentulous patients.

Bone Graft with Immediate Implant Placement

In this case (example 3), Patient had been missing all back teeth for a long time which made the sinus cavity drop down. A sinus lift was performed and bone added to make it possible for patient to have implants and replace all missing teeth. Example 4 was taken 90 days after sinus lift and bone graft surgery.

Ridge Preservation Treatment

When a tooth is extracted, the tooth root creates an opening. The surrounding bone is no longer stimulated by the tooth root, therefore the ridge begins to collapse and shrink. If there is too much bone loss, it will be impossible to place a dental implant. The ridge preservation treatment begins with inserting a specialized bone product into the surgical opening. Over time the specialized bone product will be absorbed and integrate with your body’s own bone. When?the ridge has completely matured the dental implants can be placed.

The examples below show the built up of the ridge which enable the patient to have two implants placed in the molar area. Example one shows the collapsed ridge. Example two shows the built up ridge, 8 weeks after surgery. Example three shows the placement of two implants in the new bone.
